Say Goodbye To Depression
The other issue from trauma is with the frontal lobe, in the brain. This is where the executive functions are.
These give us our ability to set up, plan, memorize and get structured.
So with trauma…
it may be hard to get up in the morning or to put things in the right place.
It could also be difficult to put away your lunch bag, for example.
Besides…
⬆️ the more things we have in our home
⬆️ the more stress we put on our brain
⬆️ then we produce more cortisol
⤴️ which then boosts anxiety and other symptoms.
So at that point, you’re stuck in the “Clutter vicious cycle”.
Do you see that cycle... of trauma - stuff - clutter - stress - cortisol - and then more symptoms of trauma?
The brain with trauma is often on a higher level of alertness.
It then produces more stress hormones than most people. That hormone is cortisol.
When the cortisol rises, more symptoms of trauma show up... 👆
So the depressed feelings and anxiety grow… 👆
.. and the desire to buy new things… because we feel good when we get something new! 😃
Also, the brain with trauma does NOT let the cortisol reduce at night. 🌜
It always stays too high. So do the stress, anxiety, and other symptoms.
